Can friendship survive divorce? Courteney Cox and David Arquette think so
In the announcement Monday that they are going the way of Tiger and Elin (and it seems musician Ben Harper and actress Laura Dern) , Courteney Cox and David Arquette vowed to remain best friends.
But is that even possible after divorce?
In the widely published statement, the pair said: “we remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply.”
Former Hollywood power couple Bruce Willis and Demi Moore are among the couples who have done it so maybe Courteney and David have a shot.
There is obviously love there which is perhaps why the announcement of the split after 11 years of marriage took so many by surprise.
On the other hand, there’s little room to mention all of the nasty divorces that have happened from La La Land to down the street.
Arquette, a member of the some what famed Arquette acting family, met the “Friends” star on the set of Scream in 1996.
The couple married in 1999 and have a 6-year-old daughter.
Cox, 46, currently stars in ABC’s sometimes funny ‘Cougar Town.’
Arquette, 39, does a lot of stuff that has very little to do with acting, including working to raise public awareness of the situation if Darfur.
Good luck with the whole being ‘Friends’ (pun intended) thing.
What do you think?

Is he wearing “spats” in that wedding photo? The flowers appear “rusty-orange” and her hair has a “smooth part.” People who read photos would have had a field day with their wedding pics. I hope they do remain friendly since they have a child together. I believe they can.

It is possible to remain best friends. I have remained best friends with my ex’s and I love it. Actually we get along better now than when we were together!

I was so upset when I heard this and reading it makes it all so sad. I hope and pray that they will find true love with each other as they are soul mates and such a perfect pair.
