Did the threat of a federal government shutdown have you worried?
JOE ELLIS, Beavercreek: “Yes. My parents are both retirees from the Air Force. Their paychecks would have been affected. And there are national defense issues when Congress isn’t able to act on the budget.”
JEWEL CASEY, Fairborn: “It wouldn’t affect me, but it would affect my friend in the Army in South Korea. If she wouldn’t get paid, that just wouldn’t be right.”
JEFF COX, Hamilton: “I don’t think it would bother me, not right away. I always think they’ll work it out before it gets that far. That’s big enough that they won’t let it go very long.”
LARRY WOOLLEY, Springfield: “I was concerned about it. My daughter works at the base, and she was worried. And the military not getting paid is not good. We’ve got people fighting three wars, and if they don’t get a paycheck, then why risk their lives?”
BRAD SHAVER, Cincinnati: “I spend a lot of time in national parks — rock climbing and camping out. If the parks were affected, that would affect me.”Tweet
