William “Bill” Cheeks was taken to Good Samaritan about 11:30 a.m. Saturday by a woman who told police she had no idea what happened to him, Sgt. Gary White said. He died from those injuries about 7 a.m. this morning, White said.

Cheeks did not appear to be stabbed or shot and police don’t even know where or when he sustained his injuries, White said. The woman who brought Cheeks to the hospital was not arrested.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said an autopsy was not going to be performed today and White declined to say much else in lieu of the results.

He did say others might know about Cheeks’ death and urged those people to call 333-COPS.
