New craft-beer bar and restaurant to open Friday in Oregon District
The new craft beer bar and restaurant called Lucky’s Taproom and Eatery at 520 E. Fifth St. in Dayton’s Oregon Historic District that we first told you about back in November has passed all of its inspections and is scheduled to open on Friday, its owner, Drew Trick, said this morning, March 8.
Trick — interviewed by phone while on his way to Columbus to pick up his bar’s all-important liquor license — said doors will open to the public at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11. The following beers will be on tap on opening day: Guinness, Bear Republic’s Hop Rod Rye, Mach 10 and Racer 5, Bell’s Hopslam, Breckenridge Lucky U, Looking Glass Hazed and Infused, Left Hand Pole Star, Strongbow Cider, Founders Porter, Great Lakes Doppelrock, Hudy Amber, and Southern Tier’s Oak-aged Unearthly.
The bar-restaurant seats 49 and will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. It will open with 18 employees, Trick said.
In addition to the extensive beer selection, Lucky’s food menu — with nearly half of the items vegan or vegetarian — is expected to be a big draw, Trick said. Several gluten-free items also will be available.
Lucky’s is located in the former John Henry’s restaurant, which for nearly a decade housed the former Blue Moon restaurant. For more information, check out Lucky’s Facebook page or call 937-222-6800.
