A Smoothie King has opened at 2321 Miamisburg-Centerville Road next to Smashburger and across from the Dayton Mall in Miami Twp.
The new smoothie shop — the first publicly accessible Smoothie King in the Dayton area — is owned by franchise owners Eric and Lynne Pierce-French of Huber Heights. The franchise owners would like to open two to four more locations in the Dayton area in the next four years, although precise locations haven’t been selected, according to Jason Hyman, marketing director for the new smoothie shop.
A Smoothie King under different franchise ownership opened last year at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It is open only to those who have access to the base.
Smoothie King offers more than 70 smoothies made to order with fruit, juices, and a mix of vitamins and nutrients. It also offers retail products, including sports beverages, energy bars, health snacks, vitamin supplements, herbs, minerals and other sports nutrition products.
The Miami Twp. Smoothie King is planning a ribbon-cutting and grand opening on May 21. It opened March 4, and employs about 12 people, Hyman said.
The franchise owners are “committed to making Dayton a better place to eat and live, and a healthier place to grow,” Hyman said.
Smoothie King is a privately owned, New Orleans-area-based franchise company that currently has more than 600 units operating in 32 states and the Republic of Korea.
