Burger war: Voltzy’s squares off against Hamburger Wagon
Organizers call it the “Battle In The Burg — This One’s For All The Onions.”
It’s a burger smackdown between the Hamburger Wagon in Miamisburg and Voltzy’s Hamburger and Root Beer Stand in Moraine, and it will occur Saturday, June 9 at the Rock ‘N’ Green Tomato Festival in the Riverfront Park area in downtown Miamisburg,
Those who attend the festival will have the opportunity to sample burgers from the side-by-side booths and then vote on which hamburger is better. The winner will be announced Saturday evening.
“They are two completely different types of burgers” said Jack Sperry, owner of the Hamburger Wagon. “Rick Volz has a great product, but I’m hoping the home field advantage will put me over the top.”
Voltzy — I’m just guessing here — will do a little more trash-talking on Saturday.
The Rock ‘N’ Green Tomato Festival will be held from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and will feature live music, games, vendors, a corn hold tournament, Hula Hoop and jitterbug contests, a green tomato pie recipe contest, and other events.
