Mark, the idea of attending wine tastings is appealing. Sounds like a great opportunity to develop a more refined palate (or at least pick up enough wine jargon to pretend to talk knowledgably about wine at parties). But how do you start out on a Saturday morning doing this and not wreck the rest of your day by getting blottoed?
